In 2010 the Cothill Educational Trust acquired an attractive family property alongside the Château de Sauveterre in the South West of France. The pictures on the right will give you an idea of the attractive rural setting. The Pyrenees are visible on the distant horizon.

This new and exciting venture builds on the reputation established by the Château de Sauveterre during the past twenty years and responds to the demand that we have received to open this French experience to younger children. The object is to run shorter courses in smaller groups for 8/9 year old children as an introduction to “la joie de vivre en France” in the secure environment of a family house.
Madame Chantal James, a native French speaker who taught French at Chandlings for fifteen years, is now “Directrice” of La Chaumière. Courses began in September 2010 and were at first open to children from Trust Schools. However, since we have welcomed pupils from schools outside the Trust who share our interest in the development of foreign languages at an early age.
